Minnie turns to Gus-Gus Ignasio

I saw Minnie today. You can find her/him (now named Gus-Gus Ignasio) on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001092849902

His name reminds me of the time I was under the influence of laughing gas at my dentist's office while watching Cinderella. I kept getting in trouble by the hygienist because I would whisper "Lucify" and mess up the work they were doing. As she would ask me not to do it again another scene would come on with Lucify the cat and I would giggle and start whispering it all over again.

LEAVE US ALONE GUS GUS!!!!!!!

Ostrich Burger anyone?

It's been another perfectly rainy saturday here in London town. After our run through Hyde Park and shopping at Portobello we went to Borough Market! And Victoria and I experienced our first ostrich burgers and oh my it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. The bun itself was heaven sent and it was topped with whole grain mustard, cranberry sauce and grilled onions. Probably the best four pounds I will ever spend.

After our burgers we walked around all of the booths and got our fair share of samples and we were embarrassed to find out that two of the vendors remembered us from last week. Ooops maybe we should stop getting multiple "tastes"and actually buy something. Maybe...

Love,
Meg

Minnie and our brilliant plan for Staley's celeb status.

PORTABELLO ROAD

Today as Jess, Victoria and I were walking down Portabello road, we saw a bunch of local artists playing on the side of the road. We decided it would be SO fun to come out on saturdays to play in local markets.

Our problem: none of us play the guitar or have the rocking abilities.
Our solution: STALEY DOES.
Our goal: Convince Staley to play at Portabello Road next week. She can make money all morning and spend it at the shops along Portabello in the afternoon. IT'S BRILLIANT!!!!

Last night as all of us were calming down and getting ready for bed, Megan gasps and jumps up off of the floor. She thought she saw a mouse running from behind the trash can and under our bed. There may or may not be a mouse in our room.
BLAST!
We named her minnie. After the scare none of us wanted to sleep close to the ground, so Stales slept in the top bunk with me and Megan hopped into bed with Jess. I woke up half way through the night and went into shock when I realized there was someone in bed next to me. I quickly realized it was Stale Bop and fell back asleep.

Today we woke up at 8 to go running, showered, then set off to go shopping for the day. Portabello was a street full of vendors, antiques, beautiful jewelry, and pushy French women scrambling for the best deals. We decided Saturdays will be our market days from here on out. After spending a little time at Portabello we went to Borough Market for lunch. Borough Market is like Costco samples on steroids. We just walked around and sampled little bits of all of the fresh food!
AND WE TRIED OSTRICH BURGERS!!! (see Megan's post)
They were amazing!
I had a dream about a giant ostrich egg last night. It's fate!!

"Do you hear the people sing?"

Tonight we saw Les Miserables. I saw it once when I was young and I fell asleep so tonight was really my first time. This whole week everyone was saying how incredible it is, how they bawl throughout the whole thing, and it changed their life blah blah blah....but oh my how the tables have turned. I LOVED it!!! I can truly say I am a huge fan now. It was incredible, wonderful, amazing and Jean Val jean is such a man.
Everyone if you haven't seen it you should asap.
And did I mention we got great seats, middle-center for a bomb price. Being a student definitely has its perks.

They were just a bit excited

Our Spring Trip: Featuring Stouerhead

I'm sure many of you have you seen Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly. Well, if you're a fan, like a lot of the girls on this trip, you might be a little jealous to know that we, the BYU Spring Study Abroad group of 2010 visited two popular sites featured on the film. And if you're not a fan, just go with it. I'm not even a big Jane Austin fan and I was absolutely loving these places.

First off, the Wilton House. Home of the Earl of Pembroke.

The First Earl

Lord Pembroke with His Fiance Victoria. All the girls were hoping to see him while at the house and break up the engagement. They are scheduled to get married this month and I'm sure his 1 million pound car, the Bugatti, has nothing to do with it. The little gold diggers.

So as the we tour the grounds we get pictures galore. Honestly the most beautiful home ever, and fyi he still lives there. Thanks to Lord Pembroke for a delightful visit to your home. You were so hospitable.

Thanks mom for teaching me how to make daisy chains in Germany all those years ago. I'm still working on it though! :)
